Gilroy’s Custiodial Diary – Part 3
Published: June 02, 2009
8:10 am: Early shift this week. I think last spring was last time they had me fill in on early shift. Didn’t get my coffee this morning. Forgot to hit the set button on the maker last night, and I was running behind anyway. I’m tired. Hopefully I can swing by the lunch room later and pick up a cup.
9:05 am: Sure are a lot of students in the mornings. Coming, going. Seems all the pretty girls have morning classes. They get prettier every year, and this year is no exception.
10:28 am: The coffee’s no good today. Barely worth drinking. But I’m tired, so it’ll do.
10:54 am: The men’s room needs more toilet paper. Don’t forget to tell super later.
4:10 pm: On time today, like most days. Super doesn’t say anything about that. Never, “Good Job, Gilroy,” or, “Good to see you, Gilroy.” Just checks her watch and nods. Must be Friday.
4:30 pm: Super’s in a bad way today. Said if I was late again I’d be written up. I explained the car trouble, but she said it wouldn’t fly, not again, even with the car still smoking in the parking lot. Better start saving where I can. I’m going to start keeping the loose change I find in the halls instead of dropping it off in the tip jars in the cafeteria
