Stop Unstoppable

The other day, between hours spent in bed naked apart from my ceremonial golden antlers, I clicked on stuff on the internet for a while and came across the trailer for the new Tony Scott movie “Unstoppable”. I’ve watched the trailer for Tony Scott’s movie “Unstoppable” three times now, and I’m still not convinced that Tony Scott’s “Unstoppable” isn’t some wonderful send-up of Tony Scott movies. It actually beggars belief.

It’s Time To Stop Writing About How It’s Time To Stop Saying ‘Douchebag’

douchebagYou know the old blog post topic about how the word “douchebag” has jumped the shark, and we need to stop using it and/or come up with a substitute? Well that topic has jumped the shark, and it’s time to stop writing about it.

First of all, it’s pointless, because the pejorative use of  “douchebag” (and it’s cousin “douche”) will probably persist forever. Second, this has become one of the most unoriginal blog post topics on the Web: Ever since Emily Gould used it in a terrific, witty Gawker piece she wrote back in 2006, it’s been done to death.

Some Things Travel Faster Than Light

It’s the motherfucking holiday season, y’all. At least that’s what my TV is telling me.

What gets me is that I used to love the holidays, and now I’m a fucking cliché. Now I just furtively get really fucking drunk on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Even when I was a kid, and my dad was a complete ass 99% of the time, I still looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas, because all his toxicity could be negated by the presence of the rest of my family. Then he stopped coming to Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. For one shining year in my family, the holidays were pleasant and full of love.
