Music to Storm the Bastille By

It’s Bastille Day in France, commemorating the storming of the notorious French prison in 1789. Among the common criminals and religious prisoners who inhabited the keep, were those who were incarcerated for printing and writing pamphlets.
Summer is on our doorstep, and that means travel. Mr. Marshmueller and I are serving the airline industry an Official Notice to Go Fuck Themsleves, and are traveling only by car for our multitude of trips this year. Not only is packing everything we need on the list, but so is coming up with the perfect playlist for being on the road. We have our favorites, but we’re thirsty for some new tunes.

I’m no stranger to tears. Crying and I go back awhile, more years than I can remember. Lots of things make me cry, notwithstanding the almost comical amount of sorrow I feel everyday recently. Luckily for you I’m not here to bore your undies off with my regularly-punctuated-by-weeping life bubbles. No. I’m here to ask what song makes you cry, and why. My tearmaker is a song called “Tender”, by popular British beat-combo “Blur”.


If you haven’t heard, Facebook has declared this week “Doppelganger Week” and since Facebook is a real life big brother we must all do as they say. DON’T QUESTION BIG BROTHER, JUST DO IT!!! All this doppelganging has got me thinking about something that comes up in my mind when ever I hear one of the following songs, is this musical “doppelganging” or is just copy-cating?
