“The Walking Dead” – Series Premiere Recap

AMC debuted their new zombie show, The Walking Dead, last night to take advantage of the element of fear that typically accompanies Halloween when it’s two days before an election. Having only seen the first episode, I’m going to cautiously go out on a limb and say that the channel is on the verge of achieving a long-pursued goal: year-round, worthwhile Sunday night television that rivals HBO. Of course, I’m only basing this on the ninety-minute premiere (because I’m not actually privy to advanced screenings of future episodes), but if this episode is any indication, this series could be the next X Files.

Deadliest Monster – This Week: Werewolves vs. Zombies

famous_werewolves_2First a bit of the background as to why I chose this Halloween to explore the age-old question about which is the greater threat: werewolves or zombies. I didn’t have any other ideas and a couple of my friends were arguing about it on Facebook.

It started with the status update of a colleague of mine:

“Thor Youngblood is still hoping to avoid werewolves this weekend, but it doesn’t look good.”
