Making Sense of Barack’s Warren Decision

Like many, I cannot know definitively BHO’s motives in deciding upon Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at his inauguration. Viewed exclusively through the prism of being a gay person, it feels like a kick in the teeth, all the while being thrown under the bus. As someone who has been thrown under the bus before, figuratively, this doesn’t worry me. Why? Let me tell you.

Sad, Sad Saddleback

It is official: the creepy evangelical minister Rick “Pork Chop” Warren has made too many appearances too soon in the public life of Americans. First, on August 16, 2008, there was something called the “Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency” hosted by Warren; second came, on World AIDS Day, a spine-chilling first ever (as if that’s important) “International Medal of PEACE” from the Global PEACE Coalition given to George W. Bush by Warren; and third, no less disturbing, came the announcement that hopegasmic transition team chose Warren to give the invocation at President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration.
