AA in Twelve Steps With Ethel-Egg

1. Hello, my name is Ethel-Egg and I’m a forty-two-year-old single female and an alcoholic.
2. This did start out as 20 Things, but I’m going to tell another story: my first AA meeting. Was it 1992?
3. I had hit rock bottom, and Mum had agreed to come with me to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. I’d not lost my job, but I was getting very close to it.
4. I was at the bottomest as bottom could be. I was twenty-four. I had broken down after Dad died, but it took a couple of years for the full emotional breakdown to happen.
