As the Gurdy Turns: Life on a Commercial Troller

It’s an hour before dawn. My husband rolls out of the berth in the fo’c’sle of the Leona to pull the anchor. I dig deeper into the damp, diesel-scented sleeping bag and listen to the anchor winch above my head groan under the weight of a 93-pound Forfjord anchor.
