Look, Christian God. I know our relationship has been tenuous ever since that day I told you I didn’t believe in you, anymore. And maybe that one time when I nailed that heart to the neighbor’s door made you feel like I didn’t have your back. But as I’ve said time and time again, the devil made me do it. Also, never mind that dead body behind the curtain. Or that unfinished dissertation.
Oh, Phil Bill Donohue. You really do see yourself as a Geiger counter of morality. Well, that’ up to you – you can believe what you want. Especially when you castigate those who obviously don’t believe in what you believe. It’s up to you. You sound angry, though. Now you’re lashing out at everyone. I dunno if you’re turning borderline-Goebbels, but you’ve certainly done some McCarthy recently.
As most of you might know, or at least those who actually read my comments, I don’t watch the news. Ever. For any reason. Except when I’m traveling, and it just so happens I’m at the Portland airport and my flight is delayed*. I took a seat in front of a television and the current headline was about the sentencing of Dale and Leilani Neumann, convicted of second-degree reckless homicide for neglecting to seek medical attention for their 11 year old daughter Madeline who had a serious yet treatable form of diabetes and died from the symptoms. The diabetes went undiagnosed because the Neumann’s never sought medical attention, even when the symptoms got so serious that Madeline could no longer walk, talk, eat or drink. The next evening, when Easter Parade ended, Mary Magdalene, Salome and Mary the mother of James went out and purchased burial hashish to put on Virus’ body.
