Debbie Downer Does DC

January 22, 2009 in Politics, Sad

Debbie Downer FlagI have never been able to stand the Debbie Downer type. This probably stems from being raised by one.

But I find the Obama Buzzkillers to be the most infuriating of all.

I am in D.C. I have seen things this week that will stay with me for a lifetime. Elderly African-Americans weeping with joy, and when I stopped to ask them why, telling me stories of being raised in the Deep South, knowing people who were lynched, remembering the Klan being around, being afraid to make eye contact with white people.

Madge’s Late 1970s Bush

January 18, 2009 in Celebrity, Scary!, The Past

Since we’re all about bidding farewell to the Bush these days, it seems fitting that an old photo of Madonna should suddenly re-emerge featuring a wild and untamed bush the likes of which we haven’t seen since 1970s Portuguese pornography.

Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against bush. I am anti-Brazilian, but I like to keep things exceedingly tidy, and always have, long before the whole “wax it all off” trend. Even though I fear a behaired petunia is going the way of the hairy armpit for women, and will one day be looked back upon with loathing and revulsion, I simply will not go bald.

But this? Well … I am straight woman, but I must say, I can’t imagine, as a man or a lesbian, that such a pelt would be terribly enticing in terms of pondering a generous oral servicing. How would you find the spot that needed to be found? Wouldn’t it tickle terribly?

Poor, poor Lourdes. There are going to be a lot of ingrown hair irritations in that poor girl’s future.

I am open to hear the opinions of others on this pressing matter.
