Embrace Your Inner Totalitarian

Do you remember the days of simplicity— where everyone would gather around the campfire chanting moronically and simultaneously about something peaceful, provocative, but always blindly agreeable to whatever or whoever they may have been invoking at that particular time? Of course you do. Whether your reasons were a girl you wanted to make out with behind the tents, a loving God that would come down from the heavens and reign over your dilapidated dung-mountain of a life, or a feeling of unity amongst the others mumbling words from their mouth-holes in a tragic revenge against self-appointed rationale, you are surely with the collected masses brought together for that one special moment. Perhaps, if it was a church retreat, you had a pastor who loved you more than the other girls/boys/transgendered children? Maybe he wanted to take you out for a smoke and grow you up in the “cool way” God sees the world, or maybe he just wanted to get in your sleeping bag— WHATEVER. The point is that we all want to be touched, and that feeling of togetherness under the veiled screams of pedophilia and psychological destruction are an important part of our coming of age. These moments form us into the men and women who can pass the torch down to the next generation of innocent youths. Surely, if Jerry Sandusky had put it this way, he would have never been thrown into the awful mess of embodying the ongoing stereotype of football coaches touching underage players in the showers after a long day of passing pig skin. Maybe we are all Jerry Sandusky? I sure as hell hope not, but hey… maybe??? These examples may not best display the point of this ramble. So it should be placed into simpler terms… maybe into such a generic vernacular that it would be utterly impossible to refute. And that is what will be done with the following statement:
“At some point it will reign.”
Yes, it will rain wherever you are. Whether that is today, tomorrow, or in five thousand years, it’s going to rain. But that is not the reign. The reign is the inevitability of stumbling into a totalitarian state, which has been done in many amenable ways. The formula is simple:
1.) Insert revolution here. 2.) Elect leaders that best reflect our views on the dealings of society. 3.) Watch the power grab as these leaders desperately try to maintain their own standing. 4.) Enter a state of apathy while being thoroughly disgusted with the course of this power grab. 5.) Give up, give in, and wait for somebody stronger than you are to take the helm and set this bitch on fire once again, where you will head in the direction of the previous steps of this process over and over again until you just give up and stop trying, because that is what our founders would have wanted anyway.
Get it? If you just give in now, you can bypass these other unnecessary conditions.
Good. Now who should be our overlord? It doesn’t really matter, does it? You are, after all, under the thumb of whomever decides to rule over you, so stop your bickering and get in the car. We’re not going to wait here for you forever, dammit. We have sights to see, people to conquer, and church to attend. You can drown yourself in whatever substance you see fit. Godspeed.
