Book Fight Club

July 18, 2012 in Wordsmoker Book Club

It’s been a long time since we met up. So long in fact that you might have forgotten about us. Maybe even went over to the other side to get some book tail. We understand. It’s okay. Everybody needs to spice it up now and then. Plus, we were busy. We forgot to call you back. Ignored your texts. But we thought about you often. We did. We thought about what you might like to read. What you might be wearing while reading. If anything!!! O my gosh! Would you be reading in a hot bubble bath all naked and soapy? Or in bed in proper jammies all propped up on thick pillows? Out in your backyard in the summer sunshine in the soft sweet green grasses? Or maybe you are on the bottom of Earth and it is not summer at all! So you are all snug in a blanket with a nice fire and a hot cup of chamomile tea. (haha Melbourne’s weather is the same as mine today: 61 degrees and cloudy.) Anyway, we thought about you long and hard and then longer and harder. And this is what we came (came!!!) up with.

We will be reading THREATS by Amelia Gray on Tuesday, August 14 at 9pm EST. It’s an FSG Original, bitches. Game on.

This is really weird. Your cat is reading the same book I’m reading!

I think I’m in on this one. To be clear, this is the club where we talk about good books? I don’t think I can take another tome about the Hardy Boys and Chet Morton walking around Hell just yet.

Not so fast there. Maybe this book isn’t your game either. Let’s see what C. D. Krohn of Hamden, CT which is in the United States had to say:
“This book made no sense. I kept waiting for something to happen to explain all the weird happenings that kept occurring. The ending of the book explained nothing and I felt I wasted my time reading it!”

Well, well, well. Think about that. Do you really have the muscle to handle a novel like this? How dare it not explain itself!

    My cat can read!!!!!

Not to be argumentative but I have already read the first paragraph of THREATS and it not only made sense but after finishing the paragraph I felt I hadn’t wasted my time reading it. I still say the author is kinda hot too.

I’m suspicious of anybody with “Gray” in their name right now, but I’ll think about it.
