September Wordsmoker Meet-Up In Brooklyn
September 15, 2011 in WORDSMOKER MEETUP
Do you have Blake Carrington envy? Ever wish that you could be transported to a lavish party in a magnificent location with beautiful people? Do you have a hat that you’ve never worn outside because none of your usual haunts seem opulent enough? Well, it looks like your prayers have been answered (assuming you actually wasted time praying about something like this).
I am planning a Wordsmoker meet-up on Saturday September 24, 2011 at approximately 7:30 p.m. It will be a magical night of grilled sausage and heavy steins of beer at the Radegast Hall & Biergarten. We hit this place en masse last December and many a beef and swine died because of it. (It was on the back end, when they had to replace the beef and swine that were killed prior to our arrival for our consumption.)
I selected Saturday night because I know that the weekdays are difficult for those of you who work in the city but reside in quaint country cottages. This is not only open to regular Wordsmoker commenters, but to all people from the current or former Gawker community (Crasstalk, TheAwl, Juggs online edition, et cetera). In reality, anyone who reads this could come and we’d be absolutely powerless to stop them.
One caveat: it is Oktoberfest (yes, it begins in September), and there could be a disproportionately high amount of doucherey going on. If this happens, we will just circle our wagons and put the rest of the crowd to the sword. I look forward to seeing you all there.
By reading any portion of this post, you have committed to attending. This is a non-rescindable implied contract.
