REMINDER: Wordsmoker Meetup Pork-stravaganza

Just a friendly reminder about this weekend’s meet-up.

I’m planning to get there some time between 8 and 9, and I guess the best thing to do is post a comment here on this post with my general location so folks can find me.  Or whoever gets there first should do this.  I think I’m wearing a turquoise sweater, and I have glasses and brown hair, does that help (in Queens, I suspect not)?  Is there some other way to do this?  I’ve never been to one of the meet-ups so suggestions are welcome.  I don’t like being in charge of things, damn it.

When: Saturday, February 26, beginning between 8 and 9 PM

Where: Bohemian Hall Beer Garden, 29-19 24th Avenue, Astoria

Ok.  I guess updates will go in the comments.  If I knew how to embed videos in posts, I’d put that one of Jessie Spano from Saved By the Bell freaking out on caffeine pills right now.

    I have glasses and brown hair in Queens. I can’t say that it helps, but it doesn’t seem to hurt either.

    It’ll be much like my family trip to Italy – it was a Perillo tour, so the meals were preset, and pretty much veal every night. I ate french fries and broccoli rabe 12 days straight. Italians eat a lot of veal, apparently.

    Also I’m hearing this thing is canceled.

    In case you didn’t see it on facebook, my flight got canceled, so I’m not going to be there. Someone else will have to coordinate so everyone can find each other, I guess.

    Everyone should still go! Just because one person isn’t coming doesn’t mean it can’t happen.

    I’m so very sad that I won’t get to see you Kate, but so very glad that I don’t have to haul out to Queens after a long day of moving – I can see the NYC-based ‘smokers on a day when I don’t feel like I’m about 90 years old. I’ll make the next meetup and hopefully you will too, K2.
