those words on the window
vanish and reappear
an apparition veiled with breath
haunting repeat performances
on the curtain of droplets
racing across the glass
dancing erratically to the edge
silenced in a puddle

Very beautiful, Rosie Cheeks. Your imagery has me drawing hearts on the window pane, only to have them come back mysteriously one day when forgotten. Your descriptions have me following closely with vivid thoughts as new neurons fire off in my brain.

I am not a big reader of poetry. I read all the wordsmoker poetry and try to form some positive comment.

In this case I discovered that I have at least one brain cell that likes poetry. That cell is not connected to any synapses so it can’t help formulate any thoughts but it does jump up and down excitedly each time I read this.

Fantastic! (spoken with a Scottish accent.)

Its short, but conservative enough with meaning that when I reread I saw two or three new layers of meaning. New stories being told, in so few words. I loved it.

    Thanks for reading all.

@WhyamIhere: I enjoy writing. A lot. In the last year or two, I have had the honor of getting to know some extremely brilliant people who are masters of the literary realm- which is intimidating- and extremely inspiring. They teach me so much without even knowing it simply because they breathe it. Poetry is like any other art form; I don’t believe there is a wrong way, though some are more pleasing. Sure, meter, rhyme and verse are important, formally speaking, just as composition, line, form, and movement are to a painting. Yet in the end, what really matters is what or how it speaks to you; if it does. So thanks.

@ Rhea: I don’t do windows, silly. *wink*
