20 Things About Me – Jamaica007

January 24, 2011 in 20 Things About Me

1. Eventually, you’ll figure it out. If you aren’t sure to what I’m referring, well, you will have to do something about that, won’t you?

2. Sometimes things are in plain sight, but often we’re overlooking the obvious hoping for something greater. What sort of question would you ask when trying to get to know someone? Check your lists, for the answer is there. You just have to ask the right question.

3. I am liberal, conservative, assured, indecisive, pensive, contemplative, reserved, shy, outgoing, narcissistic, hopelessly romantic, yet unromantic and of many personalities as the mood strikes.

4. An adventurer at heart, filled with passion behind a self-imposed fortress, I sneak out on occasion to see if all is right in the other world.  I have a skewed perspective of living outside the box to ensure that the box is indeed shaped correctly.

5. I play very well with others, provided that I want to play with you. Sorry, not everyone is a good playmate. The playmate usually has to come referred or somehow piqued my interest on some level or degree of intrigue.

6. Sometimes I love visual stimulation as much as mental exercise. So instead of flipping through magazines, I capture memories so I may later interpret with words to help me remember special moments. Aside from that, I do enjoy moving pictures and have an extensive collection of entertaining to romantic, as well as perversely erotic, to pass time.

7. Of all the forms I love, a woman’s body is my favorite, followed by flora.

8. Most would say I am an extremely private person—somewhat of a recluse. I’m not being private so much as I am observing. It’s very difficult to walk amongst the crowd at exactly the right pace so that I can observe without drawing attention. It is quite interesting how often people are oblivious to what is happening around them until it happens to them.

9. This year, as I am one year older, I think I’m finally finding peace. I am consumed by desire for my soulmate, amazed by our willingness and openness towards each other – the joys of our children and how each day I smile, I cry, I laugh, and I love, knowing how they, too, feel and give that love.

10. I enjoy the simple pleasures such as courtesies, silence, the ocean, and the company of good friends and family.

11. I find it quite peculiar how people generally divulge so much and still fail to address and consider the audience, consequences, and surroundings. I suppose that is why the gossip columns are so successful.

12. I cook, and enjoy preparing, feasts.

13. I do enjoy watching a sport. Football, no not American football, but the one that somehow the rest of the world calls football and Americans have defamed and renamed soccer.

14. I am honest and always stick to my firm code of ethics. This is pretty true to my astrological sign, from what I have gathered from those who follow those things. Hard to discern since I have not spent much time trying to understand Astrology, but I do find it fascinating at times.

15. I have a curious fascination, insanely inquisitive, and thrive on quest of knowledge and the extent by which we may be bound to conceal or reveal as appropriate, just enough to quench the thirst and urges of the obnoxiously intrusive so they may move sprightly on their way.

16. Jamaica is my home, while Spain holds my heart. I’m almost insanely obsessed with the covert Fleming world whether through the literature or moving pictures. I have been molded and groomed by the suave and debonair style of his leading character. A well-dressed man and silver-accented tongue. . . .  My, the possibilities that emerge.

17. I have many influences from childhood, subtle the hues, but vivid the colors, but at times just blue. Back when schools actually made children read, memorize and analyze in elementary school. A bit archaic you think? When there was music and art classes to help develop the abstract and expand to a realm or rational and irrational thoughts that taught us how to dream and create. Yet puzzling, fantastic, absurd, humorous or real, authors such as Dickinson, Uris, Kafka, Salinger, Shelley, Heller, Burgess, Steinbeck, Fitzgerald and others inspired us to find our own person to reason and question, most importantly to think.

18. Driven by my emotional me, my tastes range from the eclectic to the eccentric. However, at times I fall into patterns, which I use for consistency and that seemingly normal perception and borderline boring persona to thwart attention from my chaotic world.

19. I would rather write than speak and prefer observing and listening than incessant ranting.

20. I, too, will pass, but as long as my thoughts are formed to words and transformed to digipad, I will always continue to live.

    7. “Of all the forms I love, a woman’s body is my favorite, followed by flora.”

I love this one. I have multiple scantily clad is not naked prints of paintings I like, around my apartment. And I’m straight. Women are beautiful.

This list was good all around. Two thumbs up.

Great list! I’m glad you are here and have shared this with us.

#8: Oh, yes. I find it difficult at times to watch people move unthinkingly through their days, lashing out when the world doesn’t suit them, but not taking ownership of their choices or abdication thereof. Still, watching people is an underrated pastime.

I agree with Unfun (as usual) – we’re fucking hot. All soft curves and heady scents, it’s no wonder you love looking at us!

    @ Chillbear Latrigue:

Without a doubt Sean Connery then Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan followed by Daniel Craig.

    @ jamaica007:

No George Lazenby love? Of the four you’ve named, I have to admit that I like Daniel Craig the best. It could be that I’m just trying to stay current.

Oh yes #8. fading in the background is the best. Wallflowers are super underrated.

No need to be embarrassed, you’re just doing what we all do – picking the one with whom you’d like to have wild, sweaty sex, followed by the one that would make the prettiest babies with you. There’s no shame here, only acceptance.

    2. What sort of questions? I don’t ask many questions. I prefer to let the person tell me about themselves.
    4. Your words “self-imposed fortress” had me lost in thought from the beauty of it. Your writing has me thinking you have a dressing robe, a pipe, and slippers that you lounge about with.
    10. I’m pleasantly taken back by your appreciation of the importance of “courtesies.” There’s nothing common about them.
    19. Here’s the fork in the road. I wouldn’t go as far as “incessant ranting” but tender babbling at times can be quite stimulating. Quite wonderful writing from you here and say hi to Jamaica for me.

I’d love to hear more about these feasts of yours. The last time Mr. Penguino cooked was the summer of 1987 and yes, I can remember the meal, who was there, etc. Men who cook – you are more sexy to me than the sexiest man alive.

  • http://wordsmoker.com/help/members-3/bjonston/ BJonston

    I cook too, then.

Very nice to meet you 007. I appreciate your manner of speaking and look forward to reading more of your contributions.

I always knew you were too good to be true. Name your dishes, please. It will be like a Penthouse letter for me.

@Jamaica: Welcome. And as far as Bond goes; Roger Moore? Really?

  • http://wordsmoker.com/help/members-3/bjonston/ BJonston

    @ Mama Penguino:
My specialties are BBQ: grilled skirt steak in a beer/BBQ/teriyake marinade; seared tuna with mango and cilantro salsa and good old Wisconsin brats. I can also make a killer kidney bean salad (with cilantro, tomatoes, onions, olive oil and lime). My salad Nicoise is also formidable (my grandmother was raised in Nice).

    @ Mama Penguino:
I don’t make many things, but I do make a kick ass Chicken Cordon Bleu, thanks to my secret ingredient. And I’ve been told my beer meatballs are delicious.

I do admit Roger Moore has slid to the 4th position and Daniel Craig has upped to the number 2 spot. Just finished watching the spy who loved me and Quantum of Solace.

@MilitanRubberDucky every morsel of your dish I wish to devour just name the date and the hour..

    @WhyamIhere? Thank you

@Mama Penguino my invitees play a major role on the feasts I prepare, from the appetizers to desert ..

@Chillbear Latrigue as far as Lazenby, hmmmn wasnt impressed and not really fitting although I did enjoy his one appearance

#1. Pfft. I’m almost 49 years old, and haven’t figured out a damned thing yet. I most probably never will.

    #12. Sexxxxxyyyyyy.

#13. Every time I’ve been to Jamaica, I have seen what appeared to be a lot of cricket (it’s that dastardly word again) being played. Please say you don’t partake.

    Welcome to the playland.

I echo Unfun, two thumbs up, way up.

I love these 20 Things most of all I read lately.

@Chilly I always want to agree with you because you seen sensible and well grounded, but sometimes, I worry that I just can’t on some things go the distance with you. Although, this quote of yours, “I have to admit that I like Daniel Craig the best,” gave me renewed hope that you must truly be right on every level, even if I haven’t yet gotten there.
