    Eh, I can do without the mustache, but it’s not a deal breaker for me to do him. I’m even willing to overlook the somewhat homicidal gleam in his eyes. Not sure why though.

    Heavy sigh. Okay, I guess I’m the old bag who loves a shaggy guy with his hair a little too long, etc. Mr. P had this very haircut (or lack thereof) in the late 80s, but his beard was a little better.

    He lives up the street. About three blocks away. I have seen him driving down our suburban roads. It is odd to see Mr. Colbert driving down the road. Yet, refreshing. He never stops to chat however.

    This photo reminds me of the article (I think in NYT Magazine) about him. He was a very unhappy young man before he discovered performing, and changed the pronunciation of his name to col-BEAR purposefully. Without apology, he just re-created himself. Cast off his past unhappiness and family tragedy (his dad and brothers were killed in a plane crash). He re-created himself anew as a performer, left sorrow behind, around the time of this picture I think.

    Interesting, complex guy, national treasure of course too also.

    5″O: Do you suppose Mr. Colbert lives there because the name resonates? I assume he still lives in that community. S.C. gives nice gifts to his employees. My brother works on “The Report”. He has been with the show since the first season. This year he received a TAG Heuer wristwatch.
    Inscribed on the back: “Time to get back to work”.
