    I was under the impression that seals were cute and funny… way to ruin it for me. Guess this offsets my realization from last week that hyenas aren’t as ugly and sinister-looking as Disney made them out to be.

    Oh, and those penguins are ADORABLE. Exactly why I’ve wanted to have 100 of them running around my house like in the classic Mr. Popper’s Penguins. That was such a great book.

    @SFB I was blown away by these. I am not under the impression that wild animals –like polar bears– are Steiff animals from FAO Scwarz, but these Leopard seals (especially the one that looks like Barney!) are really not to be mesed with.

    It turns out some of these photos appeared in National Geographic a while ago, but I missed them because my barber never puts the National Geographiics back in chronological order when people are through with them. Go figure.

    I am not one to suffer the ill tempers of seals. However, if they catch me at a particularly weak moment, they may, just may have a ghost of a chance. Please don’t tell the seals.

    @ Chill There are seals and there are SEALS. These aren’t like the little black ones sunning themselves on the rocks you see on the way to play a round at Pebble Beach. These bastards have CLAWS on their FLIPPERS!
